The model of the Royal Louis is a tribute to one of the most famous ships of the French royal fleet of the 18th century. This detailed reproduction was made possible thanks to the archives of the Historical Service of the Navy in Paris. Heller's technicians used original drawings, including a shape survey carried out by the Count d'Estaing in 1772, to offer a faithful reproduction of this 1st-rate vessel, armed with 120 cannons, including 32 of 36 caliber. The Royal Louis was a lead ship of the Blue-White squadron and was part of the American squadron of the Count d'Estaing during the years 1779-1780. It is an emblematic ship that is distinguished by the richness of its castle, whose balconies are considered masterpieces of naval architecture. This model is a meticulous reproduction of its dimensions and features, including the hull, artillery, and rigging, creating a highly accurate model for history and modeling enthusiasts.
