The Bismarck, commissioned on August 24, 1940, was one of the largest battleships of World War II. Designed to dominate the oceans, it took part in Operation Rheinübung where it sank the British battle cruiser H.M.S. Hood on May 24, 1941. After suffering damage to the bow, the Bismarck attempted to reach a French port but was pursued and finally put out of action by British forces on May 27, 1941, before sinking in the Atlantic. This model pays homage to this iconic ship and its tumultuous history.
