But every now and then, a truly malevolent being crosses her path, ripe for the harvest. Ren was one of these unfortunates. Ren, already renowned for her knowledge and skill with medicinal herbs, apprenticed herself to the local healer who lived outside the village, helping the villagers with their ailments. Ren quickly began to resent the seemingly endless stream of villagers, growing angry that she never received payment for her work, only food. Why did everyone else receive money for their work and she didn't? Her hatred and jealousy of the village grew. Over time, after her mentor's passing, Ren began adding her resentment and anger to her tinctures, making them bitter and inedible, often causing the villagers great pain and suffering, sometimes even death. Eventually, no one visited her anymore, leaving her hungry and even more angry and resentful. The villagers avoided her completely as her home crumbled, and she began to suffer from ailments brought on by age and hatred. But all that changed after she was trapped by Grandmother and the Awakened, deciding to visit her village one last time... The knowledge Ren gained in her previous life granted her the Healing trait, which can prove useful as the faction has many models with high wounds but few other defenses.
