Ship Model POURQUOI PAS


The famous ship Commander Charcot, he was put under construction in Saint Malo in September 1907, launched in May 1908.
It was a three-masted barque in wood very sturdy, known to resist the pressure of the ice.
Displacing 800 tons, its length was 40 m and a width of 9 m, the draft of 4.30 m.His steam engine gave it a speed of 7 knots with the sails he could reach 10 knots.
The Pourquoi Pas sank 16 September 1936 off the coast of Reykjavik, 44 crew, there was only one survivor.Construction in pairs and smooth, all wooden parts are pre-cut, the model comes with the hardware.
