The North American P-51 Mustang is undoubtedly one of the most famous aircraft in the history of military aeronautics. It is considered the best single-seat piston engine fighter of WWII One of the first versions produced, the P-51A was used in combat as early as 1942. It used the new Allison V-1710 engine allowing it to reach maximum speed over 650km/h, and was armed with four 12.7mm Browning machine guns installed in the wings which provided good firepower. The already significant autonomy of the plane could be increased with the adoption of two tanks under the wings. It was used by the US Air Force and the British Royal Air Force, under the name of Mustang Mk.II, obtaining immediately excellent operational results in the missions of air defense, escort of bombers and tactical support.

The 1:72 scale is ideal for model planes, military models and figures. This means that the model is 72 times smaller than the actual object. For example, a model 1:72 scale airplane measures 8 inches / 20cm in length if the real object measures 14.4 m (1440 cm). The figures in the 1:72 scale measure about 1 inch / 2.5cm high.
